1591 new TRB Post Graduate Teachers recruitment announced

Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has announced to create 1600 PG Teachers to be recruited soon. This latest recruitment for PG Assistant Vacancy in Government Higher Secondary Schools will be filled in the year 2013. The exam notification for the Higher Secondary Teachers is to be published in the TRB Website www.trb.tn.nic.in . The proper notification also expected to be announced in the newspapers this month November 2012. The exam date for the TRB Higher Secondary Post Graduate Teachers may be in December 2012 or January 2013.

Selection Procedure for the PG Teachers Vacancy 2013

The government has not announced the selection procedure. Whether the TET or TNTET marks will be considered ? Is there any seperate TRB Written examination for the PG Teachers recruitment 2013? Is still being a question. And we all should wait for the proper TRB Newspaper notification.

Tamilnadu Teachers Eligibility Test was conducted by Teachers Recruitment TRB.
Now TRB published  the results of the TRB TNTET 2012 on August  24, 2012 at www.trb.tn.nic.in  TNTET 2012 Paper 1 results and TNTET 2012 Paper 2 results are published combined by the TRB in their website today.

TRB TNTET 2012 Latest Information ( 19.08.2012)

Teachers Recruitment Board  TRB of Tamil Nadu has completed total valuation process  and it has been found that only about 2000 candidates have successfully passed the examination with the qualifying marks.

What is the latest and updated qualifying mark for TNTET 2012 ?

There are questions for 150 marks and the candidates who has taken 60 % ( 90 Marks) is considered as successful in TET 2012. Since there are very less number of candidates are successful this year, the TRB is planning to reduce the cut off marks and percentage from 60 % to 50 - 55 % . So that the number of successful candidates may be increased.


When will be the TNTET Results 2012 Published ?

There is now official notice about the result publishing date, but it is expected that the TRB will publish the result with in the end of August 2012.  Candidates please keep visiting http://trb.tn.nic.in

TRB announced TNTET 2012 re examination date

TRB for the first time conducted TNTET on July 12 2012. The results of the examination has been announced today 25.08.12. Only about 2000 candidates out of 6 lakhs have successfully cleared the examination by ssecuring minimum eligibility marks. So the government is not satisfied with the results and it decided to conduct an re exam for TNTET 2012 on 3rd October 2012.

Government's this move has been widely praised by all candidates as they get an another chance to check their fate. The question pattern also will be easy compared to the last one.

History and Background of the TNTET Examination 

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacherin any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

Teachers Recruitment Board is designated as the Nodal Agency for conducting of Teacher Eligibility Test and recruitment of Teachers as per G.O. (Ms) No. 181,School Education (C2) Department, Dated 15.11.2011.

For whome TNTET ?

The following categories of candidates should write the Teacher Eligibility Test:

The Secondary Grade and Graduate Teachers (BT Assistants) appointed with the prescribed qualifications in Government, Government Aided and Un-aided Schools on or after 23rd August, 2010.
Teachers working in Unaided Institutions without the prescribed qualifications shall acquire such minimum qualifications within a period of 5 years and should pass the TET.

All Candidates with necessary qualifications and seeking for appointment as Teachers for Classes I to VIII.

What is the eligibility to write TNTET exam? 

Candidates should possess the following prescribed qualifications to write the  Teacher Eligibility Test:
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2 Pattern) and Diploma in Teacher Education in a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET and seeking an appointment as Teacher for classes I to V (except Visually Impaired Candidates) can write Paper I. 

Candidates who have passed a B c eo ’ De r e(B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Litt.) with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography or a Degree with any one of the equivalent subjects from a Recognized University under 10+2+3 Pattern and a Degree in Teacher Education (B.Ed.) from a Recognized University and seeking an appointment as Teacher for classes VI to VIII can write Paper II.
Candidates appearing for the Final Year Examination of D.T.Ed. / B.Ed. during the current Academic Year are also eligible to appear for the Teacher Eligibility Test.

Syllabus for the Tamilnadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET)

Tamil Nadu Teachers Elegibility Test Syllabus are as follows.

Syllabus for the TNTET Paper I (Teachers of Classes I to V )

Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V.
Number of Questions 150 MCQs and the Duration of the Examination is 1
Hour and 30 Minutes.

Syllabus for the TNTET Paper II (Classes VI to VIII)

Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to
VIII. Number of Questions 150 MCQs and the Duration of the Examination is
1 Hour and 30 Minutes.

Questions patter or Examination pattern of the TNTET

All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one
mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

What is the syllabus for the TNTET Paper I  ?

1.Child Development and Pedagogy (Age group 6 to 11 ) - 30 Questions and 30 marks.
2.Language 1 - Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu - 30 Questions and 30 marks.
3.Language 2 - English -30 Questions and 30 marks.
4.Mathematics - 30 Questions and 30 marks.
5.Environmental Science -30 Questions and 30 marks.

Total - 150 Questions and 150 Marks.


Note : 
1.Questions on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational
Psycholgy of teaching and learning relevant to the age group 6-11 years. 
2.Test Items for Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the
Medium of Instruction.
3. Test Items for Language II - English will focus on the elements of
language, communication and comprehension abilities.
4. The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on
the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of
these subjects.
5. The questions in the test Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed Syllabus of the state for Classes I - V ( 1st to 5th std books).

What is the syllabus for the TNTET Paper II  ?

1.Child Development and Pedagogy (Age group 11 - 14) - 30 Questions and 30 marks.
2.Language 1 - Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu - 30 Questions and 30 marks.
3.Language 2 - English -30 Questions and 30 marks.

4.Contains  60 Questions and 60 marks.

No there is no such negative marking system in TNTET.


Is the TNTET examination result is the only qualification to be appointed as a teacher in government schools ?

No, The Teacher Eligibility Test is merely as a pre-requisite eligibility test for those who are seeking appointment as a teacher.For appointment of teachers the Teachers Recruitment Board will follow
separate selection procedures.

Is there any required cutoff marks for the Tamilnadu teachers eligibility test , TNTET ?

Candidates securing 60% and above in the tests will be issued a TET
Eligibility Certificate mentioning the language opted under Language I.

What is the validity for the TNTET Exam eligibility ?

TNTET examination marks will be valid for 7 years from the date of issue of the certificate.

What is the examination fee for TNTET ? Where can I get TNTET applications ?

Applications can be received from the District Educational Officers on payment of Rs. 50/- in cash towards the cost of Application Form and Prospectus. The  Examination Fee is Rs. 500/- (Rupees 250/- for SC/ST /Differently Abled Candidates only). The fee should be paid by the candidate in any Branch of the State Bank of India only using the Prescribed Challan attached with the Prospectus. Payment of Fees in any other method will not be accepted. While making payment of fees through the Challan the candidate should take care to write all the necessary details without fail. The TRB Copy of the Challan Should be sent along with the Application Form without stapling or tying with the  Application form.
